After the war, many writers began to pop up and bring a sort of literary revival. There was a new genre, and many new pieces of literatrue that brought fame and controversy.

In the 1920's new culture spread far and wide and influenced young wrriters and showed them the dark sides of WWI and the "Klan".
Summary Statement: New culture after war influenced many writers from realities of war, tactics of fundmentals, and Klan brutality. It influenced other wirters to retrieve the literature that was dropped and made it better/modernized the language

Gertrude Stein: Expatriate livng in Paris. She was one of the first writers to popularize a modernist style starting with her 1906 book "Three LIves"
F. Scott Fitzgerald: He wrote a 1920 novel, "This Side of Paradise." It was popular with flappers. He also wrote "The Great Gatsby (1925)" It was criticized alot. He became an alcoholic. At the end of the decade he moved to Hollywood and became a script writer.
Ernest Hemingwayway: He was a World War I veteran, and had his own style of writing. He wrote "The Sun Also Rises (1926)," "A Farewell to Arms(1929)." He won the Pulitzer Prize for "The Old Man and the Sea (1952)."
T.S. Eliot: He had modernist ideas in work. He was a poet, and his work became a benchmark for modern literature.
